SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE

SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE / 복수는 나의 것

2002, 122 minutes
Director: Park Chan-wook
Cast: Song Kang-ho, Shin Ha-kyun and Bae Doo-na

Park Chan-wook is back on the topic of vengeance with his signature style: unrestrained desperation and rabid violence. To save his sister from dying of kidney disease, Ryu(Shin Ha-Kyun, The Foul King, No Mercy for the Rude) plans to kidnap the four year-old daughter of wealthy industrialist Park Dong-jin(Song Kang-ho, Secret Sunshine, The Host, Memories of Murder). The scheme goes horribly awry, uniting Ryu and Park in a profound sense of loss—and leaving each of them with a totally consuming desire to get revenge on the other. With the force of a sonic boom, Ryu and Park are two missiles converging on a single point. Stand clear.
